Tip 1—Choose your dried fruits for safety
Choose commercially-packaged dried fruits. Avoid loose or home-packaged products.
Check the manufacturing date and the best by date. As a rule of thumb, choose products that are newly-produced, with a nice, round shape, and even in size, thickness, and moisture.
Avoid dried fruit with additives. This can be told from their color, smell and taste. Good-quality dried fruits are nicely shaped, evenly colored and textured, with a natural fragrance.
Tip 2—Store your dried fruits for longer
Keep in a dry environment. Dried fruits do not become damp that quickly in a dry environment. A sunlit and airy room is a nice choice.
Tip 3-Keep in the fridge. When the room temperature is high in summer, seal the fruits and keep them in the fridge. Try to reduce their contact with air or moisture. Do not store them with food with a strong-flavor such as spring onions, garlic, aromatic fruits, and/or seafood.
